APPLIES TO: SVOffice 2009
SVOffice 2009 supports a software-based licensing system for certain specialized applications. This activation system uses a temporary activation key to unlock a license, which is then applied to one specific computer. The temporary key can only be used once, thus preventing the license to be used on more than one computer.
Potential Issues
There are rare situations where the activation key is successfully used to unlock the license, but the license itself cannot be applied to the computer. This creates a situation where the activation system will no longer work, as it has already been used. (Typically, you will get an error message: License server reported: ServerError Product Key Exhausted {4179})
Solution
If the temporary activation key is successfully used, the license is always written to your computer as a V2C file, even if the license is not actually applied. It is possible to apply this file manually using the following steps:
1. Open the Sentinel Admin Control Center in any web browser at http://localhost:1947/
2. From the menu, select "Options | Update/Attach"
1. Open the Sentinel Admin Control Center in any web browser at http://localhost:1947/
2. From the menu, select "Options | Update/Attach"
3. Click on "Browse..." to select your license file. It will always have the extension "V2C". The file may be in various locations depending on your computer and operating system. Some Examples:
Windows XP:
\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\SoilVision\SVOffice\svoffice2009.v2c
Windows 7:
\<user>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SoilVision\SVOffice 2009\svoffice2009.v2c
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\SoilVision\svoffice2009.v2c
4. If the file is successfully loaded, click on "Apply File". If that is also successful, you should be able to run SVOffice with your full authorization.
