A flashing USB Key likely indicates that a firmware update has failed. When working properly the USB Key should be lit up continuously.
The key may require a firmware update:
- Ensure the inoperable key is inserted into the USB port.
When the User Interface appears, click on the "Apply Update". - Please try the attached firmware update with the USB Key plugged in (HASP_HL_Firmware_Update_v2c.zip). Note that several attempts of the firmware update may be required.
The LED indicator will go out, flash while the firmware is being updated and then should stabilize to a constantly on indication. This indicates a successful update of the firmware.
The message in the User Interface window will show "Applying updates" during the updating process and then display "Update written successfully".
Note: If the LED indicator on the USB continues to blink and/or the User Interface window displays "Update failed:" or "Update data consistency check failed", the key firmware has not been updated. Please repeat steps 1 and 2 again. It may required 3 or more iterations of the procedure to successfully update the firmware.
If the firmware update is unable to complete, please try inserting the USB Key on another computer to see if it will complete the process.
