If you use both SVOffice 2009 and SoilVision on the same computer:
Each product requires a different version of the dongle drivers, which must be installed in the correct order. The newer drivers must be installed first; in addition, all legacy drivers must be removed before you begin. Once all drivers are installed correctly, you do not need to install them again; you may uncheck the "HASP Drivers" box during future upgrades.
If you only wish to use SoilVision for the professional soils database, you may choose to ignore the legacy drivers and import soils directly from SVOffice 2009. This is the recommended scenario for Windows 7 installations, as Windows Vista and Windows 7 are not supported by the SoilVision product.
If your existing drivers are not working:
Use the following procedure to uninstall your current drivers and install both the new ones and the legacy ones.
Step 1: Uninstall all existing Hasp dongle drivers.
This is accomplished by going to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and removing all drivers with phrases such as "Hasp Device Driver", "Aladdin HASP", or "Sentinel HASP".
Step 2: Re-start your computer. This step is required to complete the device driver removal.
Step 3: Install the new drivers contained in the SVOffice 2009 installer by checking the "HASP Drivers" box when prompted. Be sure to allow the driver to finish installing before proceeding to the next step.
Step 4 (optional): Install the legacy drivers from the SoilVision download page (download the HASP Dongle Driver) OR install the legacy drivers from your SoilVision CD by opening the CD and browsing for the file /HASP/hdd32.exe.
Testing your new drivers:
Run SoilVision and ensure that you are running version 4.21 or later. Then open the Authorization window. You should see the correct authorization information listed, assuming your dongle is plugged in to the computer and that you successfully installed the legacy drivers. The Details window and the log will provide additional information.
If you are running version 4.20 or earlier, please visit our SoilVision download page to obtain a newer version.
Run SVOffice 2009 and open the Authorization window. You should see the correct authorization information listed (assuming you have entered it, or plugged in your dongle if you have a permanent license). You can also view the Authorization log for more details. Please note that the SoilVision product is also listed here for your convenience.
Open a web browser and visit the URL http://localhost:1947/. This is a diagnostic page that lists all dongles (network and local) available to your computer. If this page is missing, then do you not have the latest drivers installed.
